Communicate in the workplace
This unit is about getting the message right on site: listening, speaking up, asking questions, using hand signals and radios, and filling in the paperwork.

What the unit says, step by step
1. Plan and prepare for workplace communication
- 1.1 Work out who you need to talk to and how.
- 1.2 Check the radio or phone works before you start.
2. Communicate information
- 2.1 Listen, then check you have it right.
- 2.2 Use the site's hand signals and words the crew knows.
3. Complete workplace documentation
- 3.1 Fill in forms so someone else can read and trust them.
Assessment conditions: Assessment occurs under the RTO's assessment arrangements using workplace or simulated site communication tasks.
