The marks

On site we use millimetres. 1 metre = 1000 millimetres. The big numbers are centimetres. The little lines are millimetres.

  • 1.2m = 1200mm
  • Half of 2400mm is 1200mm
  • 2450mm is 2.45m

Measure twice

Hook the tape on the end. Keep it straight. Look straight down at the mark. Mark it with a small V, not a thick line.
