Counting in groups

Materials come in packs. Count the packs, then times it. 8 packs with 25 pavers in each = 200 pavers. That is faster than counting one by one.

Ordering with allowance

Most jobs add 5-10% extra for breaks and cuts. 200 pavers plus 10% = 220 pavers.

Knowledge check

Two quick questions to show you have it.

  1. 1. You have 7 packs of 25 pavers. How many pavers?

  2. 2. You need 300 bricks and add a 10% allowance. How many do you order?
